Hi Dear Reader!

There's some really exciting news! A wonderful documentary has been made about Rob and his music boxes. called 'The Gold of the Sun'.

The magical entourage that Rob has built up over the years around his music boxes is tangible for many and can be heard every day by
in thousands of homes around the world.
Each box is an ode to the trees and the birds and is in fact a 'condensed fairytale forest'.
The film breathes this wonder like a
gorgeous interweaving of stories.
The origins, working methods and philosophy of Robin Wood have been beautifully depicted by Vincent van Esch and Alfredo Sirica has enriched it with his sparkling music.

The Festive Premiere will take place on May 10th at the Speelklok Museum in Utrecht!

The nave of the former Buurkerk in the heart of the city will be transformed into a real cinema hall and will form the setting for an evening-filling programme.

You are cordially invited to be here, reader!

You can order tickets and watch the trailer on the website!
If you would like to stay informed about (online) film screenings after May 10, sign up for the newsletter later in this post.

I (Rob) am also creating a magazine that everyone can take home after the Premiere. For this, I'm still looking for special (short) stories about the life of the music boxes made over the past 10 years. Do you have a special story/experience you would like to share? Then I'd love to hear it! Possibly with a photo of the box (and the happy owner:)!

I haven't sent any messages for over five years, but I'm certainly not sitting idle! I'd like to share some exciting developments with you.

Music boxes with gemstones

Sawn To me, trunks of fallen city trees are like rough gemstones that only reveal their beauty like a jewel after many processes.

I was honestly surprised that it wasn't until last year that I came up with the idea of combining real gemstones with wood. It's a truly beautiful combination!

Agate, ruby, labradorite, ammonite and many other stones give the boxes an extra unique signature!

Own shop in the heart of Utrecht

I now also have my own little shop near the Speelklok Museum in the heart of Utrecht! Friday and Saturday afternoon you are welcome from 14 p.m. (closed on May 10)

The webshop is open three days a month

Since April 2025, I no longer make custom music boxes. Instead, I offer small series and unique pieces every month, available from stock and available for immediate delivery, and which can be personalized with a melody and engraving of your choice.
The next three-day event is on May 19, 20 and 21.

Moving Studio

I'm looking for a new place for my workshop by the end of September at the latest. It is obvious to look in or near Utrecht, but if it special and idyllic If enough is enough, I'm willing to move for it! Tips are welcome!
